SCS Software's New Patch and DLCs for Euro Truck Simulator 2 (New Stuffs Part 2)

SCS Software's New Patch and DLCs for Euro Truck Simulator 2 (New Stuffs Part 2)

SCS is pushing hard with new patches and DLCs. Seems that my previous post about the 1.9. patch has become obsolete, pretty quickly. SCS Software once again released updates for their bestselling game at the moment, Euro Truck Simulator 2. There are a new patch, 1.10, and some DLCs that will improve your gaming experience.

1.10 is now officially the most recent version of ETS2 and SCS has released it for both Steam users (it will be updated automatically) or non Steam users (you can get it here). There are no big, fundamental changes that might affect the compatibility of your mod collection. So if a mod works in 1.9.x it will surely work in 1.10 too. The tweaks will mildly affect the performance and looks of the trucks, trailers, and the AI vehicles.

Hiatus…. I never thought it would come that often. Anyhow, now that I finally have the time to write something for my trucking blog, I want to do a quick review of new stuffs related to SCS Software and Euro Truck Simulator 2.

First and probably the most important thing to mention is the 1.9.x Patch from SCS. This latest generation of patch for ETS2 has brought couple of fundamental changes that significantly alter the game and the simulation or experience we get in playing it. The developer tweaked the physics of the trucks and trailers, AI behavior, the weather system, and, though not that important but still need to be mentioned, the grass!

Opinions and reactions of the players varied from warmly welcoming, taking it as is, and fiercely condemning. The debates about the patch, whether it has ruined the game or improved it, get really hot when it comes to the physics. Some say it feels more like a truck now and they get better handling compared to the preceding patch. However, the opposing party shouts that the tweak has made the trucks feel stiff, the trailers lose their “ability” to roll aside, and now trailers are more like the extensions of the trucks.

I did a little racing in my MAN truck against the huge ferry ship

So what about my opinion? Well……..I do feel that the trailer and the truck now lose their “special relationship.” I mean now trailers are indeed felt like the extensions of the trucks and not like a separate but attached entity that still has its own movement and momentum.

I’m sure Pavel Sebor and friends in SCS Software are listening to all the reactions, be it good and bad. I believe they will try their best to improve what is believed to be the best truck simulator for now, so it will be even better and closer to reality.

Regardless of the “controversial” patch, Euro Truck Simulator 2 is still a great PC game and I still enjoy it a lot. Even better, now we can play with other truckers from the whole world in ETS2MP. Yup, that “MP” stands for Multi Player….. and that is something I will discuss in Part 2 of New Stuffs in Euro Truck Simulator 2.

See ya.

[LTVW GRL#003] ETS2: Fishy Trip from Manchester to Osnabrück in a Scania

[LTVW GRL#003] ETS2: Fishy Trip from Manchester to Osnabrück in a Scania

Euro Truck Simulator 2 Manchester to Osnabrück in a Scania
Hallo. Wie geht es dir, mein Freund? .... I hope I say that one right. This is a blog about Euro Truck Simulator 2 anyway, a game that takes you around Europe, and Germany is clearly part of Europe—and also my destination in this video. So a bit of German greeting will be more than appropriate.

Alrighty then. A brief intro about the third job in my Girly profile. This is another quick job—still saving money and experiences to get my own truck—and this time I got a Scania. Just like the Actros in my previous shipment, this truck also doesn’t come with dashboard satellite navigation, or GPS I you prefer it. Regardless, I had a pretty much enjoyable trucking experience. There’s no traffic or any hassle whatsoever, except a little night rain nearing the end of my trip.

Well, to see how the trip goes, enjoy the video.

PS. Begins with this post, I now will also take screenshots to record the journey I made. Hopefully smoothing like photographer eyes would magically come to me so I can take great shots.

My Computer Hardware Configuration for Euro Truck Simulator 2 (Part 2: Graphic Card)

My Computer Hardware Configuration for Euro Truck Simulator 2 (Part 2: Graphic Card)

Picture of HD 6570 and R7 250
Wow, I’ve never thought it will take me this long after my second trip to do my next post. Anyhow, now that I’m “here,” I will continue discussing the hardware configuration of my computer that I use to play Euro Truck Simulator 2. I have experienced two graphic cards in playing the game so far, namely XFX HD 6570 (1GB DDR3) and XFX R7 250 (1GB GDDR5). Though both are AMD’s Radeon and both are XFX-made, the two of them are from two different tiers, per Tom’s Hardware hierarchy of graphic cards here.

[LTVW #002] Transporting 20 Tons of Lumber in a Mercedes Actros, from Manchester to Dover

[LTVW #002] Transporting 20 Tons of Lumber in a Mercedes Actros, from Manchester to Dover

My second job in Euro Truck Simulator 2
Here comes my second job!

I decide to push back the update regarding my computer hardware configuration, because I think it will be … boring. And I come up with a video instead. So, here I am, your humble trucker wannabe, sharing my second delivery in Euro Truck Simulator 2 for my "Girly" profile. In case you never heard of ETS2 before, it is an awesome truck sim game that won PC Gamer 'Sim of the Year 2012' award. If you like driving or racing games or simulator games, or if you simply a person who has certain interest in trucks, you really have to try playing this game.

For my second job, I had to haul a trailer containing 20 tons of lumber from Manchester—as shown in my debut video, it is my first and main base—to Dover. This time, I drove a Mercedes Actros. The reason I picked this quick job was it had the second longest route than the other jobs.
